Do I have to donate in-store or online?

We’ve made it real easy to make a difference in the lives of so many kids and to Add Hope. Lay on your couch and donate online or simply add R2 to your order next time you buy at KFC.


Do I have a choice when donating?

Every customer has the right to say NO. Giving is supposed to leave you feeling happy and should promote social connection and cohesion. The R2 you donate along with KFC’s contribution helps Add Hope feed over 150 000 underprivileged children nutritious meals daily to help them cultivate a brighter future. . A future where every child has equal opportunities.


Can I only donate R2?

You can donate any amount from R2 up in store or online. Say, for example, you win the lottery and want to give away a million rand, we’d let you. Your family and friends might think you’re mad, but we’d totally give you a high five for helping underprivileged children cultivate a brighter future and ensuring every child has equal opportunities in life.


Does KFC donate to Add Hope?

How uncool would it be if we let you do all the work? We contribute a portion of our profits every year to the donations made by our customers.


What does KFC use the R2 for?

Every cent collected by Add Hope goes to feeding the children nutritious meals ensuring they are able to cultivate a brighter future. Our very carefully managed KFC Social Responsibility Trust makes sure of that.


Are the children fed KFC?

The short answer is no. The long answer is no, no, no. We work closely with our beneficiaries to ensure the children are fed a varied menu of nutritious food.


Does only KFC benefit from the donations?

We partner with over 140 non-profit organisations like Jam, Afrika Tikkun and SOS Children’s Villages, as well as smaller organisations in local communities. The money goes to them so that they can feed the children nutritious meals in the communities they serve.


Can you even measure the impact of Add Hope?

We listen to how many kid’s tummies have stopped growling, how many more kid’s are laughing and playing, and how many more kids can concentrate and participate in school. So far, over 150 000 kids around the country get healthy and nutritious meals from Add Hope daily. That’s a lot less tummies growling and we hope to keep increasing it.


Do you really feed 150 000 children in a sustainable way?

It all comes down to donations – yours that you give at the till or online, and ours that we contribute from our profits. So far, Add Hope has ) raised R811 366 161, to liberate the potential of kids through nutritious meals, in every community KFC operates in.


Do KFC employees get involved?

Add Hope is a big deal at KFC. So big that after its success here in South Africa it has since gone global. It all starts with the teams at the till who ask if you want to Add Hope and then goes beyond that. We have also introduced the Add Hope Love Army, whose mandate is to fight child hunger, malnutrition and liberate the kids potential by feeding them nutritious meals and volunteering at their local beneficiary.


Why are there no Add Hope beneficiaries in my area?

Who regulates this?

The What and Why:

For 64 years, our slogan has been one of the most famous in the world. And it’s been famous because it’s true. Our chicken and secret recipe of herbs and spices are so delicious that you just can’t resist wanting to savour every last bit (In SA Almost 50 years) But this year is not like any other in the past 64. The global pandemic means our slogan doesn’t feel quite right at the moment. That’s why, for the first time ever, we’re going to stop saying it so much. It won’t be forever, but for the time being we won’t be using it in our advertising . · It’s not that people’s behaviour is wrong. It’s our bad, not theirs


We aren’t asking our fans to stop licking completely:

Let’s make one thing clear. Whilst you won’t be seeing our famous phrase in any of our adverts for a little while, we know you’re only human, and sometimes the temptation to lick every single last drop of chicken goodness is just too much We’re not here to tell you what to do and, more importantly, we certainly won’t judge. That really wouldn’t be fair, would it? We’re just saying, ignore us for now, or do so at your own risk (thumbs included.)


The responsibility message:

From the moment the pandemic began, ensuring our restaurants were able to operate responsibly has been our number one priority. We have taken into account specific conditions in each market and made decisions accordingly. The same goes for the decision to pause the use of Finger Lickin’ Good. We know it won’t be forever, but it’s the right thing to do right now

We’ve closed our dining rooms, but Drive Thru, Takeaway and Delivery are all still available. All team members are undergoing special COVID-19 training before their shifts and are going to great lengths to keep surfaces and hands spic and span.

How long will in-restaurant dining be closed for?

Until further notice. While the government advocates social distancing, we'll be playing our part to keep you, our team & the community safe.


What is KFC doing to ensure the safety of its customers during this time?

We are committed to keeping our customers and team members safe. Hand sanitizers will be made available at every counter nationwide for our team members and customers to use. All exposed surfaces and contact points will be sanitized every 30 minutes. Gloves and masks will also be worn as an extra precaution but due to global demand deliver will take place in the next few days.


What is KFC doing to ensure people are safe in their restaurants?

In addition to our usual high standard safety and hygiene procedures, we are dialing this up by ensuring all areas of our restaurant are cleaned and sanitized every 30 minutes. Protective gear will also be worn, your safety is very important to us.


What precautions are your staff taking to minimize the spread of the virus?

In addition to our usual high safety procedures, we have already begun implementing mandatory hand washing, sanitizing of all surfaces, counters and door handles every 30 minutes. We will have sanitizers at counters in every restaurant for our team members and customers to use


Why are your staff still working? Is this safe?

Our restaurants are operating until further notice, we are following strict protocols to ensure our team members and customers are safe. We are also being guided by the Department of Health (DoH) and the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) on safety measures.


Will the KFC franchise take on losses incurred, even by franchisees, caused by the coronavirus?

How do I apply a coupon code?

Upon confirming your order, you will be directed to the check out page where you will be able to insert your voucher code next to our “USE VOUCHER” option. If the voucher is valid it will discount the voucher value off of your order.


Do you have a min amount I need to spend to get delivery?

This requirement is subject to change. When accessing the delivery menu, the top banner will indicate what the minimum amount is.


What payment options do I have?

You can pay online through a debit or credit card.


How does paying 'cash on delivery' work?

Only select stores offer this option, if you do not see this as an option then the store does not offer cash on delivery. If you do have this option available for selection, you will need to pay cash to the driver and the driver should provide you with change.


How do you ensure safety of my credit card information?

We take the security of your payment and personal information seriously. We work closely with Paygate, a market leader in online payments. Paygate holds PCI DSS Level 1 compliance certification, with over 10 million cardholders trusting them with their data.


How do I find available promotions?

Upon logging in to the KFC Mobile App or website, you can check out our ONLINE EXCLUSIVES and PROMOTIONS categories for exclusive KFC promotions. We pride ourselves in the fact that our full KFC menu is available for delivery except for milkshakes and ice-creams. Our delicious Krushers are however available.


How long will delivery take?

The delivery time is based on several factors such as your distance from the selected KFC restaurant and our KFC driver availability. To ensure fresh food of a high quality, we only provide delivery within a 5km range from our restaurants. The estimated time ranges between 30-60 minutes (*delivery times may vary depending on demand on the system). Our KFC mobile App provides clear updates throughout the delivery fulfilment journey.


How much does delivery cost?

A small additional fee is usually charged for delivery, however, KFC has committed to providing FREE delivery until the end of 2021.


How is the food delivered to me?

Our KFC drivers will collect your order from a nearby KFC restaurant and deliver it to your location of choice. You can choose to have the driver leave the order at the door, meet you at your door or meet outside by indicating this when placing your delivery order.


How do I track my order?

You can track our order by downloading our KFC mobile application and logging in to your profile to track your live orders.


How do I cancel my order?

Once placed, you will not be able to cancel your order.


Can I collect my order instead of having it delivered?

At KFC we like to give the customer, that’s you, ease of use by getting KFC whichever way you prefer. If you choose to “click and collect” you will be able to place your order online and then collect the order at a KFC restaurant near you. Certain areas also have delivery activated. Once you have placed on order on delivery you cannot change your order mode to click and collect.

How do I start my order on WhatsApp?

Can I borrow KFC?

Unfortunately, we don't have a loan system but if you're having pre-pay day issues, we have plenty of affordable meals options for you on our menu like the Streetwise Mix. So, pop in and treat yourself. 😉


Why are KFC employees not paid enough?

We comply with South African Labour Law legislation to ensure that our team members are paid fairly. We believe in rewarding hard work and this is reflected in the market-related salaries we pay our staff.


Do you host Birthdays?

We do not take formal bookings for parties currently. However we do have catering options available. Simply select CATERING when selecting your order mode.


Are KFC products Halal?

We only use ingredients that are Halal certified which includes sourcing meat from national suppliers which use Halaal processes in preparing our chicken. However, it is up to a franchisee to seek Halaal certification for their store, should they want to. This is mostly influenced by things like location of their restaurant.


Why is KFC not called Kentucky Fried CHICKEN anymore?

In the 1990’s KFC` started adding new products to our menu, some of these include grilled options as well as other exciting products like our desserts. It’s for this reason that we started using the name KFC as we don’t only serve fried chicken.

What chickens does KFC use?

We only use chickens sourced from well-known local suppliers such as Rainbow Chickens, so you can be sure that you're eating only the best A-grade chicken when you visit the Colonel’s!


What is the recipe to your chicken/zinger/dunked wings?

We don’t call them ‘secret’ recipes for nothing 😉


If I buy your meat and freeze it, will it taste the same?

We always advise that our chicken should be consumed fresh or at least within 24 hours after purchase. We cannot guarantee it will still have the same great taste after being frozen.
